Name Your Tune!

Today our fun find is Name Your Tune! This mom owned business is based in Toronto Canada and offers fabulous personalized products for children. If you have a child (or grandchild, or nephew . . . ) who loves being the star of the show you’ll definitely want to read on and enter for this great prize!

When mompreneur Candace Alper contacted me about her product I was honored that she wanted me to try it out! Her personalized children’s cd’s have won the iParenting Media Award for Outstanding Product (2006), she was nominated for the Ernst & Young 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year and is in the running for the SavvyMom Mompreneur of the Year Award!

I had no idea how truly extraordinary these cd’s are until the package arrived! The second I pulled the cd case out it simply screamed “FUN”! The beautiful, vibrant colors and graphics on the (environmentally friendly) cd case let you know that something super fun is inside . . . and we hadn’t even listened to it yet!

We asked to have our cd made for all three of our youngest children (ages 4 and twin 19 month olds) and when they listened to it for the first time it was very fun to watch! The minute they heard the music their eyes lit up and the dancing and squeals of delight began. Then when our 4 year old heard his name he stopped and looked at me and said “huh? That’s ME!”. He was so excited.

As a parent I am finding tons of value in this great cd! Name Your Tune features songs that encourage learning (numbers, letters, body parts and more) and while they hear their name sung over 80 times throughout the cd they remain captivated and love to join in.

We talked with Candace about how the company began:

“When my daughter Hannah was born, I used to sing her these songs, and insert her name into them. It made it fun for both her and myself. When my maternity leave was about to end, I wasn’t so keen on going back into an office, and really wanted to spend more time at home. With my husband, Eric, who works in the music intrustry doing PR, we came up with this idea (he used to have a vinyl record with his name in it when he was a kid), and took it from there! “

Candace has been extremely generous and has offered one to give away! So now you have a chance to win one of these fantastic cd’s for your child (or children, did we mention that they will put more than one name on a cd?). This contest is open to participants from the U.S. and Canada!!! Simply sign up using Mr. Linky (at the bottom of the post) by Thursday, Sept. 27th to be entered to win. We will be announcing our winner on Friday, September 28th! You don’t have to be a blogger to enter, simply leave your name and email me with your contact information so that I can let you know if you win. As a courtesy for their wonderful generosity please don’t forget to share the news on your blog (or with your friends if you aren’t a blogger) linking your readers to this contest.

As if that wasn’t enough . . . she offered us even more!!!! For those of you who don’t want to wait to purchase their fabulous cd’s and other products Candace is offering our Froggy readers a $5 discount! Just enter the code NNHOL2005 to receive this great offer. They have more information about their cd’s (performers, songs and names) on their website. Other products? Yup, they offer lots of personalized products for children! In addition to the Name Your Tune cd they also have amazing personalized jewelry, wooden items (such as stools and door names), blankets and other award winning music and books.
