Crazy thing happened to me last. Well, not really that crazy and it didn’t “happen” I just left on the television. I suddenly realized that I was staying up way past my bedtime (sure I was doing a little blog party hopping and website designing at the same time), but not only that, I was watching (or rather listening) to an infomercial. Really *gasp*!
The informercial was filled with ’80’s classic music and I was laughing and reminiscing during the commercial . . . ugh! Seriously???? I graduated in 1990 and although I wasn’t exposed to much ’secular’ music, you really can’t avoid the classics :). If hubby had been awake (he was happily sleeping in his favoite “lazy” chair) I really do think he would have gotten a kick out of them as well LOL!
If you are old enough to have a clue what I’m talking about when I mention lyrics and Titles like “I can’t fight this feeling anymore” or “Take a look at me now” or maybe even “Open Arms” and actually have those songs bring back memories of your youth then stay with me here (no I’m not going to turn into the informercial haha!).
Have you seen the movie Music & Lyrics (starring Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant)? There are admittedly a couple of less than lovely things in the movie, but if you can get around that you may just enjoy the movie as much as hubby and I did! I am not joking when I tell you that we actually spent a large part of the movie laughing almost hysterically BECAUSE IT SIMPLY MADE SO MUCH SENSE TO US! It’s a generation thing, I know it is, but what can you do.
From the second the movie comes on (even during the opening credits) the 80’s jumps out of every pore of this movie! This is definitely NOT the type of movie that hubby would look at on the shelf and think “oh, I want to see that one’” HAHA . . . on the contrary, he would have turned up his nose and quickly walked the other way hoping that I hadn’t seen him over there looking (as if we ever go to the store together, but you get my point). So I love getting movies like that and “springing” them on him heehee!
Well, there you have todays rambling thoughts of this “30-something” mama. Oh, and if you’re here for the blog party, welcome again! No things aren’t usually quite this kooky and rambly around here, but I just may do a couple unusual things to keep things interesting through the party week! Don’t forget to let me know if you want to win one of the prizes I’m offering this week . . . oh, and make sure you enter the other contests going on (brand new ones starting soon!!!).

DH used to be in the manufacturing business…DVDs and CDs and so we watched a lot of movies that we absolutely shouldn’t have…Wedding Singer was a movie that hit me the same way…If you can get past the language, it is a total 80’s blast (Drew Barrymore was in that one, too, I think, LOL!!)
I know exactly what you mean!!
hugs,
Holly
