I recently had the opportunity to review a great new book put out by National Geographic just for families! The book is Photographing Your Family and all the kids and friends and animals who wander through too. by Joel Sartore with John Healey.
If you are an avid scrapbooker and are the one who spends a lot of time photographing your family and you’d like to take your photographs to the next level, this is a great book to read!
There were a couple of areas in the book I liked in particular, the beginning covers the basics: light, angle, scene, position of subjects, etc. It really gave me a great new way to think when I’m photographing my family and many of the WW photos I’ll be featuring over the next couple of weeks use some of the recommendations in this book.
It really makes you think about what you’re doing when you take a picture. What’s in the background, would that photo look better if you took it in the grass instead of on the driveway?
So, there you have it a great book recommendation!
