I hope you got some organizing done after all that! Reminds me of when my mom and I tried to get a queen sized mattress up a tiny flight of stairs, I was laughing so hard I slid down the stairs with it pinning my mom against a wall with the mattress and she was laughing so hard she couldn't tell me she was pinned. As the cars were driving by you actually said "maybe someone will stop and help us" and you sounded HOPEFUL! I was mortified hoping and praying that we somehow blended into the landscape, or came across as 2 perfectly normal women doing a little moving. Not you, you were ready to flag down a innocent passing motorest. Have you no PRIDE?! This experience has taught me two things; first, a kingsize matress has no backbone to keep it standing up straight on two sleds (the one flaw in my otherwise brilliant plan).
