When Janet Nusbaum, owner of www.KidsandChores.net contacted me about her chore system for families I was intrigued. When she offered to send me the book I was thrilled! This isn’t your ordinary chore system! Here’s what Janet told me about it:
With the purchase of one system, you receive the 133-page parent’s workbook and 1 ‘In My Family Everyone Works Together’ chore binder. The system is designed for each child in the family age 5-18 to have their own ‘In My Family Everyone Works Together’ chore binder, which is a poly-construction mini-binder (that I had custom-made) containing the chore cards you have assigned to that child.
Each binder includes a full set of 80+ chore cards, of different skill levels. Based on age-appropriate chore charts in the workbook, you the parent choose which chore cards go in each child’s binder based on their age. As the child matures, you add or delete chore cards from their binder.
The beauty of the system is that the child takes ownership of their chore binder, which serves as their own instruction manual of how they contribute to their family. Consistently, I see kids take pride in having their own chore binder, and thus they take pride in their contribution to their family – they feel special and needed. This concept is a 100% improvement over a standard wall chore chart or similar.
Ok, I said before that this isn’t your ordinary chore setup. It is an entire home makeover in my opinion. I sat down and went through the workbook and was amazed at the approach. It is all about a complete restructuring of the way you view the work involved in getting and keeping the home clean and running smoothly. It also has some great overall parental helps like learning your children’s personality as well as an ENTIRE chart on what chores are apporpriate at what age!!!!
The organization and household help doesn’t stop there though! In addition to the wonderful system Janet offers at www.KidsandChores.net, she also offers tons more for you and your family at www.SimplifiedSpaces.net where you can sign up for their free report and newsletter and the Simplified Home Store for all your organizing and simplifying needs!
Janet has offered all of you the opportunity to get a free second binder with any complete chore system purchase. Just head over to www.KidsandChores.net to purchase a complete “Mom Can I Help Around the House?” system and be sure you mention in the comments as you check out that you heard about them at A Frog In My Soup!! Hurry over though, this offer expires on July 23rd!
She has also offered one of you the opportunity to receive a complete “Mom Can I Help Around the House?” system! Here’s what you need to do …
~ Visit www.KidsandChores.net and take a look around, you can also visit her other site Simplified Spaces and view the products there.
~Come back here and leave a comment telling me what your favorite product is and why you need it!

I like the Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate? book
This way everyone knows ahead of time who gets what.
June 23rd, 2008 at 12:32 pm 2
I would love to win this! I am super organized however I still have clutter and would like to get a system down for getting rid of the clutter. My son is only 3 but having this system would help me get him ready when as he turns 5! Thanks
June 23rd, 2008 at 12:44 pm 3
The Couponizer. I have so many coupons, and really try to use them, but it’s such a mess. I have them shoved into an envelope, then when we are at the store it’s hopeless to find anything!
June 23rd, 2008 at 1:01 pm 4
I need the couponizer. My coupon organizer is falling apart and in desperate need of repair.
June 23rd, 2008 at 5:04 pm 5
Paper Connect; Home Command Center. I desperately need the organization. I keep everything on little scraps of whatever’s handy and that happens to land somewhere else….
June 23rd, 2008 at 5:18 pm 6
Shera, this whole system sounds great, actually! We just implemented a new chore chart system in our house and are still getting the feel of it.
June 23rd, 2008 at 10:05 pm 7
I like the can I help system and Paperconnect.
I do have a suggestion for the home page. Break it up a bit more. It scrolls down forever and makes it harder to read.
June 24th, 2008 at 6:05 am 8
My son is learning responsibility and even though I consider his chores, mini sized ones we are still getting into the structure of it all, I even have to do this with my hubby, LOL
I checked out Kids & Chores and we like: The HomeFile because my hubby is always mis-placing files and then expects me to know where he stashed them, this would definately eliminate clutter and keep everything nice and orderly and all in one place!
June 24th, 2008 at 6:46 am 9
Oh how I love this! I could use them all so I made a list of the ones I love I was never organized then I had one kid still not very organized, Then came came the second kid and I tried so very hard to be organized and oh I am just so not very good at it and low and behold along came the third kid and we are a house of total crazyness so all these products would help me greatly I have tried many different ones with no help what so ever!
I love the homefile, the couponizer, home maitenace organizer kit, medical organizer kit, all out of pad, to do pad, checklist for leaving the house, pack this, things to do around the house, and dont kill the kids.
June 24th, 2008 at 7:48 am 10

Hello! What a marvelous idea and giveaway. Very impressive chore system. I like that each child gets their own chore binder. The binder is filled with age appropriate household chores! I think children are more responsible when they have their own binder and their chores are right with them. They don’t have to check the refrigerator front for their specific responsibilities. Please enter me in your fantastic contest drawing. Many thanks, Cindi
June 24th, 2008 at 10:03 am 12
The HOMEFILE® Financial Planning Organizer Kit is what I need for sure!
June 25th, 2008 at 11:59 am 13
I love the whole system, but I also love their to do list pads, stuff we’re out of pads, and such. Because I write a hundred lists a day, and I lose them all. Thanks so much for the opportunity.
June 25th, 2008 at 12:36 pm 14
The couponizer! I collect coupons, but they get randomly stuffed into ’safe’ places, and I never remember to take them to the store . . .
June 26th, 2008 at 12:47 pm 15
Great Giveaway….could certainly use this!

June 27th, 2008 at 5:27 pm 19
These organization products look wonderful and are really up my alley! I could really use the ALL OUT OF PAD from Simplified Spaces because I often have trouble keeping track of what I need to get more of at the grocery store. Thanks for sharing these websites with us and for having this fun giveaway!
June 27th, 2008 at 5:44 pm 20
i love the couponizer. Just today I saved 1/3 of my grocery bill. Trust me though it’s hard to stay on top of them. I sure could use some help. Trent loves cutting them out for me and I think this would make it easier for both of us.
June 27th, 2008 at 7:37 pm 21
My husband and I were just discussing chore charts; we could really use this! After looking at the site, we’re also going to purchase Sidekick-Home Reference System. Great stuff!

I like the couponizer. I need a way to encourage my daughter to help me around the house. I rarely ask her to do chores but when I do she complains the whole time.
June 28th, 2008 at 3:50 am 23
I have to say that I really love this Chore Organizer. I have two kids, ages 8 & 11 and it’s like pulling teeth to get them to help. What a great idea!

June 28th, 2008 at 5:21 am 25
I need this to help teach th ekids some resposiblity.
June 28th, 2008 at 6:16 am 26
I like the Couponizer. I really want to use my coupons, but they get lost in the kitchen drawer.
June 28th, 2008 at 6:57 am 27
Wow, with 6 kids and as an unorganized mom, I think I need it all! I know I could use the Paperconnect home command center. I’m forever trying to keep important papers organized and failing! HELP!
June 28th, 2008 at 11:07 am 28
I need the couponizer, because I’m the coupon queen and my coupons are sooo disorganized! Love the site, thanks for sharing!
June 28th, 2008 at 9:08 pm 29
Honestly, I need this chore system. My 10 year old daughter seems to think she is too young and incapable of doing ANY chores including cleaning her own room AND even worse my husband thinks she is right. SO…this would prove them BOTH wrong
June 29th, 2008 at 6:19 am 30
“Mom Can I Help Around the House?”
THIS!!! I’m a newly single mum with four home educated children and expecting twins. I NEED help, but don’t have any coming into the house, can’t afford to hire any, and so it is all resting with me and my offspring. Am very weepy about this just right now, so this would be a breath of fresh air for me!!!
Plus, on top of all my current circumstances, homemaking is something I generally struggle with anyway. I wasn’t included as a child with the maintenance because I didn’t do it right and am ‘messy’, so I’m still somewhat clueless about how to go about getting it all done, and what IS age appropriate??? since I’ve no reference point…
First time I came to your blog today, ( from your old twin blog), after googling on twins.
Anyway, here’s hoping….
June 29th, 2008 at 8:33 am 31
What a great site. I would love the SideKick! I can never remember what colors walls and stuff like that. It would definately come in handy.
June 29th, 2008 at 8:35 am 32
I really could use The Couponizer. My coupons always end up getting ripped and not used or lost. This would definitely be helpful!
June 29th, 2008 at 10:11 am 33
The chore system is a GREAT idea. Next to that my most-needed product is PAPER CONNECT! I am organized in some areas, but paper is my achilles heel. My husband has begun calling my desk my “landfill.” Thanks for the opportunity!
June 29th, 2008 at 11:42 am 34
The Couponizer would be so helpful as we try to save some money at the grocery store. Right now I’ve got my coupons sorted by paperclips!
June 29th, 2008 at 2:42 pm 35
I love the Home Maintenance, Medical and Greeting Card Organizer Kits!
June 29th, 2008 at 6:04 pm 36
I like the all out of pad. It is really a great idea. Thanks for the chance to win the chore system. I could certainly use it around here.
June 29th, 2008 at 8:15 pm 37
The couponizer. It seems like a small thing but I have never found one that “speaks” to me, until now. It’s one of those things that I say “Oh, I’ll get it another time, I can make do”.
This, however, is easier said than done. They end up lost, torn or forgotten.
June 30th, 2008 at 2:09 am 38
I love the “Mom can I help around the house?” as we are adopting a toddler and will need to start off with good, loving rules! We will need the help!! I also love the financial planner, the “Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate”!! I will buy one! Also, the “Side Kick” would be a great house warming gift. Thank you for sharing!!

Wow! What a great idea! I would like the closet organizer because mine is such a mess but we really need this in our house because its a constant battle to get the children to help out & learn responsibility. They think I am just being mean mom!! Its always a fight to get them to do what they need to do! Thanks so much!
Angie
June 30th, 2008 at 6:32 am 40
Other than this product (which we could REALLY use), I could definitely use the coupon organizing system. Cool!
June 30th, 2008 at 7:08 am 41
I love the chore system!!! The paper connect thing looks very helpful!
June 30th, 2008 at 8:20 am 42
I liked the Paper Organizer (I think that was what it was called), and the stylish file folders. What a wonderful prize to give away… I sure hope I win because I need the chore system badly
June 30th, 2008 at 10:21 am 43
Oh my gosh the couponizer! I love it! I always have my coupons in an envelope in my purse getting all crunched up and ruined!

June 30th, 2008 at 11:06 am 45

June 30th, 2008 at 1:00 pm 46

June 30th, 2008 at 5:18 pm 47
The Sidekick sounds excellent but I really really need the “Mom Can I Help Around the House” Please pick my number.
June 30th, 2008 at 6:57 pm 48
My absolute favorite is definitely the Mom Can I Help Around The House? system. My teen and tween argue about EVERY chore! It is a constant battle and I do find myself doing things because I just don’t want to hear it! I even have a chart in the kitchen on the fridge that lists their individual kitchen duties and they still argue! Both of my girls love binders, paper, folders, etc. I think this could really help motivate them and stop the fighting. But even more importantly, I won’t have to call my doctor and ask him to up that prozac dosage!

June 30th, 2008 at 7:13 pm 49
I like the Paperconnect Home Command Center, but I love, love, love the Mom Can I Help Around the House idea.
June 30th, 2008 at 8:02 pm 50
I would like HOMEFILE® Financial Planning Organizer Kit. I don’t know the proper way to file and organize the important papers.
June 30th, 2008 at 11:43 pm 51
I really like the whole chore chart idea. I’ve been battling my kids about who is responsible for what, and I think something like this would take a lot of my stress! I like the THE COUPONIZER® Coupon Organizer System. I am forever cutting out coupons, only to leave them at home when I go shopping. I need some organization!
July 1st, 2008 at 2:24 am 52
My entire family NEEDS this. Seriously, I struggle just to keep the health department from shutting me down!
July 1st, 2008 at 8:27 am 53
Wow, we could DESPERATELY use that Chore Chart system in our house for MOnkeyboy and Little BEar! We try to get them to do chores around the house, but our house is chaotic sometimes, and remembering to tell them to do a chore, thinking of something for them to do, and nagging them to do it, can be exhausting! Having their own binders would make it easier for them to learn to take responsibility for their chores on their own! I REALLY hope we win this!
July 1st, 2008 at 10:23 am 54
I have 3 teens, none of which will help out, please let us win this so I can begin to straighten things out! I love her tips and her simplifiying ideas as well!
July 1st, 2008 at 10:35 am 55
There are almost too many good choices! It was kind of a “where do I start?” feeling.
For me it’s a toss up between the chores system and the paper clutter system. The paper clutter starts to take over and then it’s joined by all manner of other things. Maybe if the paper was under control the rest would follow.
July 1st, 2008 at 4:02 pm 56
this would be great to use with my 8 year old
July 2nd, 2008 at 5:31 am 57
I love the chore lists and instructions- it would really help my son do more efficient cleaning!
July 2nd, 2008 at 10:31 am 58
I really need the HomeFile® —Financial Planning Organizer Kit. My finances are really messed up. I know I’m behind on some bills but I’m not sure which ones. I just need to get them organized.

July 5th, 2008 at 6:34 am 63
I do like all of her organizers, they really would help keep everything in one place, but my favorite and most needed item is the Mom, Can I Help Around the House? system. My kids are getting to the age where I feel they should start help with the cleaning. Their toys are always a major mess and what I’ve been trying so far (asking for help straightening up) hasn’t really produced results. It seems as though this system would bring me better luck.
July 5th, 2008 at 6:47 am 64
I like the can I help system and Paperconnect. Thank you so much!
July 5th, 2008 at 6:06 pm 65
I need this! I have a 10 year old and a new (as in turned 5 yesterday) and we’ve struggled with creating chores. (We also have a 3 year old). This looks awesome! I’m going to book mark this page to come back.
July 6th, 2008 at 12:41 pm 66
I like the financial organizing products. This is where we always seem to have our biggest weakness.
July 6th, 2008 at 5:23 pm 67
THE HOME MAINTENANCE ORGANIZER KIT is my favorite. I need it because I’m bad at keeping dates and receipts of repairs. Now I would have somewhere to put them
jceko77@yahoo.com
July 6th, 2008 at 5:53 pm 68
I definitely NEED the couponizer!!! I constantly buy something at the store, only to realize I had a coupon for it but didn’t realize it!!! I waste a lot of money this way, and waste some valuable coupons!!
July 6th, 2008 at 5:54 pm 69
what a wonderful contest!!! “Mom Can I Help Around the House?” system and athe chore lists are a wonderful idea!!!!
July 6th, 2008 at 8:05 pm 70
Ok – what I really NEED is Mom can I help around the house, but homefile is on my needed list too. I can’t help but think we are missing out on a ton of tax deductions because I am horrible about keeping receipts
July 7th, 2008 at 11:03 am 71
I love that each child gets their own binder to be responsible for. I think my dd A, especially, would totally get into the \"ownership\" aspect of it all.
July 7th, 2008 at 1:09 pm 72
My kids are actually getting old enough for chores! Mom, Can I Help Around the House? would be perfect for them – and ME!

July 8th, 2008 at 9:26 pm 79
Wow we need the can I help system. I feel like I say 100 times a day in this family we all help. Next on my list is the couponizer… I need better coupon organization.
July 9th, 2008 at 12:41 am 80
What a great idea! The Sidekick-Your Home Reference Book, looks really interesting too. It almost looks like it would be fun to go through and fill everything out when you got it, and then never have to worry about it again! I don\’t know how many trips we\’ve had to make BACK to the hardware or furniture store because we forgot 1 crucial measurement. This would be a sanity saver.
July 9th, 2008 at 12:21 pm 81
My wife is running an accounting business out of the house. She could really use some help from the rest of the family getting the chores done around the house.
July 9th, 2008 at 5:59 pm 82
I love the home maintenance organizer!

July 10th, 2008 at 5:19 am 85
I would have to pick the giveaway because this would be great for my son and daughter!! I’ve been looking for something like this!
July 10th, 2008 at 7:56 am 86
Can I help system. We have been working hard on trying to get the boys to help around the house. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
July 10th, 2008 at 9:01 am 87
Wow! I love this stuff! I need the filing command center. My husband is a “pile maker” and I can’t stand it! This would get rid of our clutter!
July 10th, 2008 at 3:57 pm 88
I love the couponizer. I would love to win this, it is hard to believe that anything would help me get my teenager to pitch in.
July 10th, 2008 at 4:04 pm 89
Mom, Can I Help Around the House? A Simple Step-by-step System for Teaching Your Children Life-long Skills for Pitching in and Picking up. I have two girls, eight and six, like many parents, I cannot get them to simply place their dirty clothes in the hamper and it drives me crazy. I would use this to keep sanity in my house.
July 10th, 2008 at 5:16 pm 90
The couponizer is paramount for me!
July 10th, 2008 at 7:42 pm 91
I could use the Homefile Financial Planning Organizer Kit. This sure would help me keep all of the important papers together and easy to find.
July 10th, 2008 at 7:55 pm 92
The couponizer is exactly what I have been looking for! I have coupons stuffed everywhere, but nowhere when I need them.
July 10th, 2008 at 9:50 pm 93
I love the idea of the home maintenance organizer kit! I have great intentions, always think I’m going to remember to re-do something in 3 or 6 months or whatever it is, and then I forget until it’s a horrible mess!
July 10th, 2008 at 9:56 pm 94
My favorite item would have to be the contest give away prize!!! My family could definitely use this system “Mom Can I Help Around the house?”. We currently have 5 children ages 2 – 11 and help is something not everyone wants to do so this would be tremendous.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to try for this wonderful prize!
July 11th, 2008 at 6:05 am 95
i love the couponizer when i go shopping i take at least 100 coupons and this would really help me get them organized
July 11th, 2008 at 7:14 am 96
I want The Couponizer. I’ve been wanting to start using coupons again, but hated the difficulty of managing them.
July 11th, 2008 at 7:35 am 97
I REALLY want to win this!! My favorite item (besides the prize) is the couponizer!!!
July 11th, 2008 at 11:19 am 98
