Now that we’ve all settled into back to school routine (we have done that haven’t we?) it’s definitely a great time to take stock of what we’re sending to school in our childrens’ lunch pails.
I recently had the privilege to review Horizon Organic Milk, the kind that are individually packaged and don’t require refrigeration … yup those! These are so fun to offer to the kids, they simply love them.
I was a little concerned that it would have a funny taste to it … after all it isn’t every day that it’s “ok” to drink non-refrigerated milk
. I was pleasantly surprised to find however, that it tasted great! Totally fresh and not strange flavor at all! Their chocolate milk is by far my children’s favorite, and I think that the strawberry would have to be a close second. Kids simply love flavored milk though don’t they. I liked all of the flavors.
I love being able to send this milk with my boys in their lunch! I don’t buy because, let’s face it they charge WAAAAAY too much for public school lunches. When I can spend under $10 per dinner for our entire family of 8 I don’t think I should be spending over $2 per child just for lunch ….. that tastes horrible. I know that they are “trying” to make the lunches healthier, they say they HAVE, but I’ve seen what they serve and I’m NOT impressed. I’ll get off my soap box now though LOL.
Non-refrigerated, single serve Horizon Organic Milk can be purchased at most grocery stores and I’ve noticed that many bulk food warehouses carry it as well
. I encourage you to give it a try and while you’re at it visit their website for great information and resources.

Hey, thanks so much for doing a review on this! I love the regular Horizon refrigerated milk, but when I saw this non-refrigerated stuff I thought it was strange, lol!
