The twinks are doing well! They have actually been quite healthy so far through summer and now fall! I am truly hoping that this will be the case. Now that they are over two they should be at less risk for all the illnesses they got their first two Fall/Winter seasons!
Their big brothers are still sure to bring home lots of bugs from school, but they are finally more capable of fighting those off before they turn into something major! We’ve had a little stomach bug go through already this Fall, but it was gone in a couple of days without turning into a big deal for them … that is definitely a first!!
Pea M (known as Bugs at A Frog In My Soup) is moody these days and although I had longed for the “terrible twos” to be short lived since they started at 16 months, we are still enduring it. He knows what they want and …. well … if I don’t comply it a knock down drag out. He either goes after the person giving the boundary (he likes to hit) or he throws himself on the floor to scream …. and scream …. and scream!
Out of the two of them he is usually the most likely to go to preschool class at church without a fight, but last Sunday he decided he didn’t want to go and who was I to try and make him? Yeah! So that turned into a kicking, screaming and frankly hysterical temper tantrum on the floor of the classroom. I felt terrible for the other teachers and even for me, there was absolutely nothing we could do to help him!
After he’d been doing that for a while and had made the semi-ok Pea E (known as Monkey at A Frog In My Soup) upset, I was finally able to pick him up and have him settle down to color. So we did that for a while and it’s my understanding he did fine the rest of the time. Trouble is, he’s been throwing these types of tantrums quite a bit at home over little things that shouldn’t make a difference *sigh*.
He loves to be held, adores Daddy and Big Brother and is very creative!
Although historically you couldn’t exactly say that the twins are opposites, at the moment I think they are! Sure, Pea E get’s upset from time to time, but for the most part he is a fun-loving, happy-go-lucky-kid! He almost always has a smile on his face. He’s even almost a bit of a tease! One of his very favorite things to do is get someone’s goat!
Also very smart and industrious he is forever trying to get to places he shouldn’t be or do things he shouldn’t do. He also loves to be cuddled and hang out with Daddy or Big Brother.
Well, there you have it …. my twinks at 2 years 8 months old!
