This week seems to be all about simple and yummy holiday food! Recently, Cook’s Ham contacted me to ask if I would be interested in trying out one of their hams and offering some coupons to all of you (but we’ll get to that later). Since the Holidays were quickly approaching I thought it would be a great idea and I’m really glad I did!
Using a coupon they sent me I went to my local grocery store and was pleased to find that it completely covered the cost of a ham (a very large one too). This was wonderful since last minute we found out we were hosting Thanksgiving and it was a great addition to the menu.
I made a SUPER simple glaze with honey and pineapple juice and I have to tell you that the ham was divine! Seriously! I definitely recommend the great recipes section at their website though, to make it a truly wonderful dish.
Now Christmas is nearly upon us! Whether you’re planning for a gathering with friends or preparing to host relatives from out of town, it can get a little overwhelming. So this year, spend less time getting wrapped up in the stresses of the season, and more time being a jolly holiday host.
As a special treat to bring in the holiday season, you now have a chance to win a coupon for $15 off your next Cook’s Ham! To enter, just post your favorite ham recipe. In a week, I’ll choose a post number at random and that winner will receive the coupon! We also have several $5 off coupons for runner’s up!
Also, to make the season go more smoothly, check out the Cook’s Ham Holiday Idea-Casts at www.HamIdeas.com. My favorite is the Orange Honey-Glazed Ham from Cooks.
Ingredients
1 Cook’s Bone-in Spiral Sliced Half Ham
Orange-Honey Glaze
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup orange juice
Preparation
1. Remove and discard glaze packet from ham or reserve for another use. Prepare and bake ham according to package directions, uncovering and brushing occasionally with the Orange-Honey Glaze for the last 30 minutes of the baking time.
2. Orange-Honey Glaze: Mix sugar, honey and orange juice in small bowl until well blended
3. Carve ham just before serving.
Sometimes I add a little prepared mustard too.
