Why Do You Blog?

I have a question for all of you mommy bloggers out there … why do you blog?

    I blog to remind myself that I am not alone in my daily struggles of Mommy-hood. I blog to vent. I blog to share my amazing kids with the world. I blog to keep my sanity. I blog for free therapy. I blog because I LOVE it!

    I blog for several reasons. One to document the things going on in our lives because otherwise I know I might forget. I’m not one for scrapbooking, so it serves as my “scrapbooking” for my family and friends to see. It gives me a place to share my thoughts and fears and all the above. It has provided me a way to “meet” other moms and become a part of a fantastic community. I do it because I love it.

    I’ve not heard of the interview – what’s going on?

    I blog for exactly the reasons you wrote above. and for validation. It’s amazing how much better things look when you share your problems with other moms who just KNOW.

    2 reasons. To keep the memories of this precious time that my kids are so small and to keep my sense of humor while in the midst of it. :)

    I started to blog when I was pregnant with my little guy (he is almost one now). Looking back I wish I had started earlier when I was waiting to become a mommy for the first time, but back in 2003 blogs were not heard of as much.

    I use my blog as a way to document my life. . . including kids, home, beliefs and other items from around the news that interest me. While I was working I was very careful never to talk about work – that was off limits.

    I enjoy reading other blogs (including yours) because it is interesting to get a peak into the lives of others, no less their minds. I have met amazing people from online groups and blogs and hope to get to know more in the future.

    I maintain two blogs. The impetus of my family blog is to keep in touch with loved ones and to preserve family memories. I started my second blog as a ministry. Honestly, I really felt the Holy Spirit leading me to share my experiences in this venue. It also gives me the opportunity to hone my writing skills, cultivate friendships with other Christian writers, and possibly serve as a spring board to publication some day if that is where the Lord leads.

    I’m behind on what the “Twitter” is about.

    Wow ladies! Thank you for all the wonderful responses! I just updated the post to include a smidge of information about Twitter as well as a couple links to a blog where you can watch the interview for yourself.

    The interview wasn’t all that terrible in my opinion, but it got me thinking. I have to laugh though because the fact that the “celebrity co-host” had no idea about computers and openly admits that they scare her has the mommy blogosphere a little up in arms LOL.

    The reason I started blogging was so that my dad, who lives several thousand miles away could be apart of our lives even though he lived so far. But as I have gotten more and more into it, I love the friends I have made and it’s so wonderful I’m not the only one with frustrations or going through a particular thing with mykiddos. It is therapy in a way. I love it!

    I blog for fun! I blog to share my deals… to share freebies… which to me is fun, so I guess that goes back to the first reason. :) I like to feel that while I am having a good time with it, just maybe I am helping someone else too. I’m still pretty new @ blogging and still figuring out what I want my blog to be about, but I figure as long as I have fun with it, it’ll all come together eventually.

    I’d heard about the interview but no real details.. has anyone done a write-up on it? (Still on dial-up here – shhh – so don’t do so well with videos).

    I began my blog to promote my several ecommerce ebiz, and as a Baby Boomer to grandstand on issues important to me. I\’ve grown to love it and and now making so many new friends, that I\’ve started a second \’fun\’ blog! :)

    I started blogging as a way of keeping track of the daily lives of my family. I had no idea there was a whole “blogging community” out there. I found the family friendly blog roll and started visiting other people and people started commenting on my blog. Then I blogged about my sons food allergies and asthma and people started visiting and thanking me for sharing our story. I realized that not only could I keep track of our lives, and meet very sweet bloggers, but by talking about our life with food allergies I could also help other people.
