When my daughter was about one month old, my mom and I were shopping. We had taking my daughter with us because I chose to nurse my daughter. I was trying to meet back up with my mom. I had to go up an exculator. It had happened to just break and I had to figure another way to get upstairs. My daughter started crying. A very rude lady told me that is why I should not bring my children with me while shopping. I walked away found my mom and bawled. After that I figured out what I would tell rude people like that if that happened again. My daughter’s 2 now and I have a second child and I haben’y had to tell anyone that I had no other way to feed my child therefore they get to go with me everywhere I go. I love my children! And my mom for all her support!
My friend swore by swaddling and advised we do it as long as possible. At first, I thought it was crazy and how could a baby that was several months old still like that. But we took the advice and swaddled our son until almost 5 mos old and he sleeps like a champ! He was never as comfy unswaddled until he really started rolling
I have gotten tons of comments from strangers regarding my big belly. Ever since I was 6 months pregnant with twins, I have been asked if I was going to deliver any day. But the most suprising comment came from my husband who said that this was the biggest non beer belly he has ever seen and when the babies move, it looks like two hams fighting under a blanket. He claims this was meant with much love.
The most surprising advice I ever recieved came from my sister in law right after my son was born. She told me to get him on a schedule from the beginning and my life would be much easier. I had no idea what a life saver (not to mention sanity saver) taht would be in the days, months, and years to come! I’m still thanking her to this day for those awesome words of wisdom!
