Welcome to day two of Baby Fest! Later today I’m going to re-introduce you to one of my all time favorite online baby shops and you’ll be hearing about them a lot during this event!
This week we are focusing on products for pregnancy and planning/hosting a baby shower. Many of the products that we get to share with you were fun little surprising ideas for expecting moms that we had never thought about – I think you’ll be inspired!
In case you didn’t know, Baby Fest is actually in honor of my sis Tessa who is expecting her 4th baby – A Girl (yes, I’m definitely giddy about this). All of our sponsors sent amazing products for her to try out and she’s been having a blast (well, so have I). She’ll chime in later today and as we go through the week.
Here’s today’s challenge (Participation Opportunity) … Tessa and her hubby are notorious for not being able to pick a name prior to the birth of their babies.
Think I’m exaggerating? Last time, with her third child, he went at least two days without a name. We can’t blame it entirely on my sis though! Nope! She’s obviously not alone in this naming process, so BIL(Brother-In-Law) is also definitely wearing his fair share of the blame.
So, here’s the call out for you to share all the baby names you LOVE and want to recommend for them to consider! To give you the best shot at making sure your shout out is one they would even consider, I don’t want you to dive in without a little pertinent information first:
- She is expecting a girl and I haven’t ever heard them mention any names that are commonly used for both boys and girls (Jordan, Casey, Taylor, etc), so I don’t think they’d look at those.
- This time around they are avoiding “C” or “K” names.
- They do NOT like names that tend to be shortened into nicknames either (Elizabeth, Samantha, etc)!
I’ll leave it at that! Tell your friends and think on this a bit, we’re desperate here. This is a couple that seriously cannot agree on a name (LOL). So, give it your best shot and at the end of Baby Fest I will coerce my BIL to go through the names and choose his favorites.
Just for extra fun, I may even randomly choose from those favorites and send a little prize your way
. Kind of vague I know, but hey, you know it will be a fun little prize for any mom (I’ll give you a hint – I’ll be designing it for you) so go ahead and participate.

Congratulations to your Sister and her family. My family is also awaiting the birth of a new baby. My oldest daughter is expecting her first baby, a little boy, due in March. Selecting a name wasn’t a problem for her. She made up her mind when she was a little girl she would name her little boy Brady so Brady it will be.
Girls names that were tossed around before we found out she was having a boy included Zoe, Isabella, Bayleigh, and Savannah.

It took us a while to decide on names for our children. Although they did have a name a few weeks before they were born. I think you should pick Peyton. That’s my daughter’s name. Not easily shorten! We didn’t want that either. Although it can be a girl/boy name sorry. Autumn and Isabells are a couple other chooses.

Congrats on the new baby girl soon joining the family! Names for us have always been tough, especially since we tend to favor longer, unique names that can be shortened to something more common if they wish. Like our daughter Kaydence (Kaydee) and Emmaleigh (Emma). Some other names that were high on our list for this baby were
Savannah
Georgia
Olivia
Tess
Bridgette
Shelbi
Morgan

My husband and I are procrastinators too. We still have not decided on boys names. Before I found out I was having 2 boys, I was looking at P names for girls. I really like Page and Piper. I also like Isabeau from Ladyhawke.

As soon as I hit the send button, I thought of another one…Olivia.
On a side note, if my son had been been a girl we were going to name her Shelby Grace.
Little girl names are fun!

Girls names were hard for me and my hubby to agree on too especially with our second daughter. I too didn’t want a name that people would tend to shorten. Here are a few ideas:)
Alexa, Alexis, Alyssa, Ashley, Ava, Bella, Brooke, Ellie, Emma, Hannah, Jenna, Lauren, Mia, Mya, Noelle

I like nams that are a little bit unusual, but pronounce-able. My son’s name is Jathan, but for a girl I like Jerica, Tannah or Taryn. Good luck!

I love love love the names *Lola* and *Lucy*. Unfortnately my SIL and her daughter already have those names so I will never be able to use them. I am totally with you on the names that can’t be shortened band wagon. Good luck picking!

Well, I WOULD suggest my own name: Celeste – but that’s a ‘C’ name! I love my name (pronounced like the word “celestial” without the -”ial”)…I also love the name Violet. Oh, how about Helene (that’s my middle name!) I think it is really pretty! I heard a pretty name the other day: Novia.

I am fond of the names Maggie, Lucy, Emma, Ava, Elle or even Eva. My husband disliked all of those names when choosing a name for our daughter, so we named her Addison instead.
