I’m an addict of CANON DSLR because it’s the best!
So if you want to buy a DSLR, you must chose a CANON.
I’ve always used Canon. The last I bought, 3 months ago, is the 450D

Before I read your probable choice, I was going to tell you to get the Canon Rebel! One of the parents of a child on my kids’ soccer team has been taking pictures of the children in action, and the photos are absolutely gorgeous. They’re crystal clear and never blurry, even when the kids are running. I was so impressed that I asked the parents what kind of camera they use, and they told me it was the Rebel. So, I think you’d be very pleased with it.

This Christmas my husband got me a Canon 50D SLR. When I asked why he didn't get me the Rebel (that was the one I had been researching) he said it is more of a point and click, great for a beginner but a lower grade camera. I would have been totally happy with a Rebel to be honest. The Canon 50D is a beautiful camera. It does take amazing pictures and the fact that I want to learn more about photography makes this a good buy for me. It is not a point and shoot although it does have a point and shoot feature.
