nana-star-books4

This giveaway has ended and the winner is #27 – Sheila.  Please check the upper right sidebar for all the latest giveaways!

When I was contacted to review Nana Star®, I hopped over to the site and immediately loved what I saw!   What a creative and imaginative line of books and plushies!

They currently offer two books: Nana Star® and Nana Star and the Moonman and this spring they plan to add yet another book to the series.  They also offer matching plushies … Nana Star plush poseable doll and the Moonman Lovie.

They have received so many awards for these great products too … including (among many others), 2 iParenting 2008 Outstanding Toy of the Year and the Teacher’s Choice Award for the Family 2009.

If you have a little girl (or a granddaughter, neice, friend’s daughter) who is about to become a big sister, this is a very fun set for her.  I say this because when you give her both of these book and plushie sets, you give her the opportunity to share something wonderful with her new sibling. I almost don’t even know where to begin with these great products.  I am honestly going to have a hard time keeping this post down to a manageable size and still share all the information I want.  Sooo, before I talk about the products I just want to say that their site is a GREAT source of information and you can order right there too. I have both books and character plushie sets and I’m truly loving them.

The Nana Star® book and character plushie are about a little girl who finds a baby Star that she must return to the heavens.  This imaginative and playful story takes you and your child on a magical journey.  Add to that the great CD that comes with the book and you have an amazing set.

Nana Star and the Moonman continues the story.  I for one am absolutely in LOVE with the Moonman Lovey!  He is sooooo soft and cute and cuddly.  With 6 sons I have heard plushies play every rendition of twinkle twinkle or mary had a little lamb that I want to hear in a lifetime, so I was immediately in love with the adorable (albeit in full honesty, I’d love for the volume to be a little quieter) song Moonman plays when you press on his little tummy!

nanastarlaughbuttonI also love that a portion of the proceeds from Nana Star product sales goes to the Nana Star Foundation, which benefits terminally ill children and under-resourced schools.

February is Laugh Friendly month, want to know more?  I thought so!  Be sure to visit the site to discover what Blaph is all about!  In honor of Laugh Friendly Month, they are offering my readers 10% off all Nana Star and Friends purchases during the month of February when you use the code: LF2009!

They are so generously offering you the opportunity to enter to win a Nana Star doll and book set.  To enter, simply leave a comment answering one of the following:

  • What is Blaph?
  • What was your favorite toy as a child?

This giveaway will be open through February 9 and is available to addresses in the US and Canada!  And don’t forget all the WAYS you can get extra entries!

Blog and laugh – that’s the best kind of blog -those that brighten your day!

My grandaughters would love the Nana Star doll and book – they have a virtual library and just LOVE their books. (So do I, that is why I keep buying them.) My own favorite toy (60+ years ago, believe it or not, was a “Schmoo” – a white “THING” that looked something like a bowling pin which was a character from the “Lil Abner” comic strip. I sent away for it and I was so happy and excited when I received actual “mail” just for me. I wonder what ever happened to it?

Blaph means to blog and laugh, which hopefully we are all doing now and throughout February! When I was a child my favorite toy was my dollhouse – I remember going to the department store with my mother and father and seeing it (they were buying something else) and thinking they would NEVER get it for me (oh so expensive) and then I was brave enough to ask my father and they did! I did EVERYTHING with that dollhouse from grades 5 to 8, that one could ever imagine, cutting out paper dolls for it, making amazing furniture, and making up ALL sorts of stories and adventures!
