What is one of the top New Year’s Resolutions made? To lose weight and get in shape. For me it’s more about getting in shape. Sure, I need to lose many pounds, but if I’m not doing that by eating right and exercising then I’m not going to get anywhere. Thankfully our family got the Wii Fit board for Christmas and I’m committed to doing it during the twins’ nap time each day
I also have been thinking a lot about exercising my brain. I suppose that sounds funny, but I’ve been thinking about how important it is to stay sharp.
Considering both of those things, I was very excited to hear that for January 2009 GameStop stores have started a section called Shape Up, Sharpen Up where they allow customers to discover “active gaming”.
Popular video games like Wii Fit, My Fitness Coach or Dance, and Dance Revolution to shape up your body while having fun. While titles like Brain Age or Crosswords DS give your brain a workout.
All you have to do is stop by a local store where you can demo a variety of games for different interests and skill levels. As a special incentive, all shoppers who spend $35 or more on designated products will receive a free 12-month trial subscription to their choice of Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Redbook, Good Housekeeping or Esquire.
So if you have made it your goal to get in shape (physically or mentally) in 2009, this may be a GREAT option for you! Just visit them online or at a store near you.
