Being home all day as a family yesterday was fun…a little strange since it was a weekday, but fun.
Yesterday evening, the Twinkies were climbing all over my hubby (our resident romperoom) and I heard Monkey suddenly declare: “Daddy, you’re the Man!” LOL! I was actually shocked…I mean where on earth had they heard that? Hubby was laughing and thoroughly enjoying the moment of course, as I stared on in disbelief.
Yes, my Hubby truly is “The Man”, an amazing and wonderful one at that and I love him dearly, but to hear the little ones declare it out of the blue was quite the experience.
Oh, on a very different note… I wanted to mention that Hubby discovered the existence of Flip Video Camcorders this last week while we were in Cozumel…this discovery was apparently rather profound for him. After the mom bloggy media blitz they did during the holidays, I kind of forgot about them and never mentioned them to him.
Some of the group members on the Cozumel trip had them though and were using them quite a bit and he decided they were quite the item. Being the lover of technology that he is, he has decided that this is THE next gadget to have! I on the other hand have known about them for quite some time and have been fine with my existence without one…
What do you think? Do you have a Flip for your family? What would be the benefits to having one for our family?

DEFINITELY get one!! You’ll be amazed at how they can so quickly and easily capture priceless moments because they are so small you can carry them in your purse or pocket…..which means you’ll be much more likely to actually use it than those older style camcorders….and transferring the video to your computer (or uploading to YouTube) just could not be any easier….
Your boys all all young now but you will be so glad to have so much video of them when they’re older and off on their own…..

I’ve been eyeballing those lately, and what I love about the Flip cameras in particular is how small and convenient they are. We went from a larger digital camera to a smaller one because the other was too heavy and inconvenient. I don’t want to make the same mistake with a camcorder.

I also read great reviews about this camera. After reading your blog, I am also encouraged to check more things about it. Maybe it will be convenient for my busy family.

I have one and I LOVE it! But since it is so small any movement in your hands is detected. However I hold it differently so that I don’t have that issue.
I have video of my kids eating, snow fights, and even my son breaking his collarbone during the semi-finals in wrestling.. Yep… proud Mommy moment.. .I video taped it before running to his side. ~sighs~
I would recommend it though, I love it, it is ALWAYS in my purse, I can upload it at work or anywhere that has a port. AND you can watch it straight on your TV right after you record to see if you need to do a repeat.
IN FACT… I won a fully paid trip to Tempe, AZ this past March using my Flip Camera. I video taped the whole thing, uploaded it and made a video from all the clips I had within 2 hours. It is *THAT* easy.
Good luck on your choice!

A friend of mine has one and I’m thinking hard about ordering one from woot.com today. It’s so easy to use and she can carry it around because it’s so small. The video quality is great and I think it would help me capture those random kid moments more often.
