When I was contacted by a representative for the Sport-Brella by SKLZ, and they explained what their product does, I immediately said I’d love to review it! When I received it, I was pleasantly surprised to see that even though the Sport-Brella is large enough to protect our entire family from the elements when opened it is actually quite compact when all folded up!
The first thing that came to mind was how useful it will be when Football starts up! We are exposed to a lot of elements during football season…practices typically begin the last week in July for the younger boys, which exposes us to some pretty extreme heat. But the games for the season do not end until the beginning of November typically, which puts us into very cold and rainy weather most of the time. Thankfully we will be completely covered with the Sport-Brella!
Sport-Brella is an easy to transport umbrella that an entire family can lounge under. It can be assembled in a quick three seconds. It offers 125 SPF protection from the sun, top wind vents, side zippered windows and internal pockets for gear and valuables.
Setting up the Sport-Brella truly is very simple! It opens just like a regular umbrella, then you simply stake the main pole into the ground and stake down the two flaps to secure them for complete protection and that is it! Our yard is particularly rocky, so it wasn’t quite as easy to get the Sport-Brella staked into our yard as it is at the park or sport fields.
Personally, I LOVE the SPF protection! When my sister comes to visit with her kiddos, we love being able to keep 3 month old Little Miss inside the Sport-Brella so that she doesn’t get too much sun. It honestly reminds me a little bit of a tent posing as an umbrella
.
For families who spend time outside…at their kids’ sports events or even at the beach…I highly recommend the Sport-Brella!
I have the pleasure of being able to offer one lucky reader the opportunity to win a Sport-Brella for your family! oh my goodness. My kids both play baseball and we spend some VERY hot weekends out at the ballfields! This would be great for keeping the hot sun off of our heads! And I love that it has the air vents! Nothing worse that being stuck in a stuffy tent in 95 degree weather!!

We love going to the local rec park pool in the summer. Unfortunately there is NO shade available so going this summer with Lil Bit is (or was) going to be a challenge. I think the Sport-Brella is exactly what we are looking for. It will provide just the coverage we need while still allowing air flow so Lil Bit doesn’t burn or get too hot. If I don’t win … I will be buying!

Actually, all of the features of this product I am most interested in. My husband and I vacation a lot, and 85% of the time we are at the beach. We do not like to get sunburned while at the beach and the Sport-Brella would be absolutely perfect for this. Not only would this protect us from the sun, but from water as well. I like that it has vents for airflow – which is nice for the beach/hot days.

I like the easy setup. Especially if I was to go to the lake by myself and daughter—
June 27th, 2009 at 3:21 pm 132
I love how it has air vents. That way at least the wind will get through
June 27th, 2009 at 5:04 pm 133
After extensive facial surgery for basal cell carcinoma, I love that it offers protection from the sun.

The feature I like best is that it “protects over 99.5% of UVA and UVB rays.”
June 27th, 2009 at 6:50 pm 135
Protection from the sun is the most important feature for me.

I really need the sun protection… I have MS (known for heat sensitive…) and am on medications that tell me to avoid sunlight… The 3 sided sun protection would really be a blessing
June 27th, 2009 at 8:41 pm 138
I love the easy set-up and the windows.
thanks

I like the side flaps. They sort of give you a little room of your own at an outdoor event.
June 27th, 2009 at 8:57 pm 140
I can’t sit in the sun for long for medical reasons… Having a three-way sun blocker would really help me to participate in more family gatherings…
June 27th, 2009 at 9:47 pm 141
The sun protection is most important. It’s weird, but several family members are literally allergic to the sun!
June 27th, 2009 at 10:12 pm 142
Protects over 99.5% of UVA and UVB rays! I have 2 very pale little girls to protect from the sun at dh’s softball games so this would be awesome to have. Thank you!
June 27th, 2009 at 10:55 pm 143
I love the wind protection capability, but ease of setup is my favorite feature.
June 28th, 2009 at 4:03 am 144
I think the wind protection would be a nice feature
June 28th, 2009 at 6:21 am 145
Would protect the whole family from the harmful UV rays while we’re either by the pool or at the beach
June 28th, 2009 at 9:31 am 146
easy set up rocks!
June 28th, 2009 at 9:42 am 147
The SPF would be the best for our family. I have infant twins & the doc has told me not to use sunblock until they are 6 months old. Well, I live in the Valley of the Sun & that would mean I would not be able to go out until late fall! This Sportbrella sounds great!
June 28th, 2009 at 10:59 am 148
it sets up in only 3 seconds
June 28th, 2009 at 11:55 am 149
i really like how quick it sets up and that i could do it myself with the kids when my husband isnt with us and we would all fit under it thanks for the chance
June 28th, 2009 at 1:35 pm 150
The 3 second setup, the shade itself and 50 uvf are all useful for my kids.
thanks for the contest.
June 28th, 2009 at 1:44 pm 151
It sets up in just three seconds and fits the family or the team.
June 28th, 2009 at 3:04 pm 152
I love that this only takes three seconds to put up and has room for the whole family! Plus the SPF 50 is fantastic because I’m always looking for shade for my fair-skinned daughters and this would be such a great solution. Thanks!
June 28th, 2009 at 3:15 pm 153
I like the inside pocket.
June 28th, 2009 at 3:24 pm 154
What a great idea! The fact that it folds is wonderful. Then, it goes up in a snap, and offers great protection from the sun! Being I’m so fair and burn easily, I could REALLY use this!
June 28th, 2009 at 3:26 pm 155
I think the sun protection and fast set up for the whole family would be the biggest plus for us since we all love to go to t-ball games!
June 28th, 2009 at 3:38 pm 156
I love this feature: Top wind vents and side zippered windows for efficient airflow – because it can get so hot here!
Thanks
June 28th, 2009 at 4:50 pm 157
How cool this would be I live in FLORIDA….its hot and BRIGHT. My family would love this for the park or parades , the beach. We would love it!!! : )
June 28th, 2009 at 5:05 pm 158
I think the quick and easy setup is the greatest feature.
June 28th, 2009 at 5:57 pm 159

June 28th, 2009 at 9:14 pm 171
I was shocked to read that it’s 7 feet wide! That’s amazing it’s that big but can still be set up in seconds. This would be perfect for my son’s HS football games and tailgating parties as well as for our yearly beach vacation! Thanks.
June 28th, 2009 at 9:44 pm 172

OMG… where do I start. I LOVE the sheer size of it. All four of us could fit under there. But let’s face it, I’d probably have to get another one just to fit the extras (toys, drinks, snacks, ect…) under there too! LOL Both of my kids are fair skinned, light eyed peanuts. Blocking them from the sun and heat would be great too!

I have 7 and 5 year old daughters who are very fair skinned and we live in Fla. I keep sunscreen on them as I have already had several incidences of skin cancer…this would give me extra security for them at the beach.
June 29th, 2009 at 5:30 pm 216
