August is upon us in a few mere days and I for one am beginning to panic…where has the summer gone? Of course, I ask myself this same question every year and never have a good answer. At the end of every school year I vow “this summer WILL be different”, but it isn’t. Sometimes there’s just no getting around reality.
The reality of having 6 children is rewarding, but challenging. Going anywhere takes a lot of extra planning and usually cash. So we are content to hang around the house. That said though, there are a lot of lakes and rivers locally as well as the ocean, so we are very blessed to have so many convenient (and FREE) locations nearby!
Once again the word “perspective” is always on my mind…well, ok, there’s a second word “balance”.
Right now I’m trying to create a calendar for the rest of the summer to help me keep everything organized and still plan plenty of fun while also keeping all of our limitations and needs in mind. It’s challenging and even overwhelming at times, but I hope that in the end it will be rewarding.
But I’ll still be walking around blankly for the next couple of days in shock that it’s actually almost August.
