Elmer's Glue Crew Giveaway

RLP_2985Who hasn’t grown up with Elmer’s Glue? Those little white school glue bottles are totally a trademark of all things back to school. Sure, their label may have changed (but only slightly) over the years, but it’s still the must-have and go-to product for back to school.

Seriously moms, tell me it’s something you don’t just automatically grab off the shelf when you’re purchasing school supplies.

My favorite back to school memory is a money-saving one! As a teacher I would carefully refill the children’s small Elmer’s Glue bottles from a large gallon size Elmer’s Glue bottle. I would actually keep the smaller empty bottles from year to year, refilling them as needed. I was glad to see that even the Elmer’s Glue gallon size bottles can be recycled in their ingenious new program! Hurray for the Elmer’s Glue Crew!

When I asked him if he was practicing cutting today he said no.I said well were you trying to cut your clothes . No he said in that cute little voice . Well how did you get cuts in your clothes. He replies I dunno!Did you cut your clothes? uh no!! I said strongly Noah! He shrugged his shoulders and lowered his eyes and said very slowly yesss! I said now you know you do not cut clothes you need to cut the paper. So I let him know I was emailing the teacher and he empatically shared and repeated NO NO. I sent the email and the teacher talked with him the next day. He said my teacher talked to me about cutting and I wont do it again he said brightly.

  129. Marilyn says:

;-) Not back to school, near the end of the school year actually, but it does involve Elmer’s glue. One summer day my daughter came home from school and I noticed she went right away and changed into her play clothes. Unusual because she always liked to “dress up” for school and wanted to stay in her nice clothes till bed. Didn’t think anymore about it until I got the clothes out of the hamper that evening. Her favorite robin’s egg blue muslin dress had a stiff back and the bow was rigid too and “sticky”. Well upon investigating this anomaly I found it was papermache day in Mrs. Comer’s 4th grade class. I still roll in the floor laughing about this. My grown daughter would just as soon I forget it.

  143. Diane says:

My fav back to school memory was always buying new stuff each summer for my dorm room. Each summer i swore my room would be more organized and clean than the previous year so i would buy all sorts of things to keep me organized. Although my room usualy looked like a tornado went through it a few months into the semester, I always had some pretty cool stuff!

  145. Lauren says:

I just started going back to school to work on a PhD…the other day I was having coffee with some of my new classmates and somehow the topic of glue came up. I never knew this was something kids at other schools did (never mind across the country), but apparently it was!
