Epic Summer – Colorado Family Vacations

epicsummerimageLately I’ve been talking a lot about vacations…alright, so I’ve been talking mainly about staycations and local vacations, but you get the idea.  Today, I wanted to let you know about a fantastic resource for planning an Epic Summer vacation, courtesy of Vail Resorts in Colorado.

Drawing on the majestic national parks and forests of the West to transform their village at Keystone Mountain into a family base from which daily adventure trips take place. Set in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, the Epic Summer Family Adventure offers families an action-packed getaway with four or seven-day itineraries.

I don’t know about you, but the idea of getting away, but having everything all planned out is fabulous. Both of the trips my husband and I have taken with just the two of us were planned with a great itinerary and I think it would be even better served when used for an entire family!  That alone was enough to seriously intrigue me about this great destination.

Although I’m not one to participate in a lot of extreme or outdoor sports, I’m always up for trying new things on vacation.  We have found that family vacations aren’t always for complete rest and relaxation anyway, so we might as well stay busy.  All the activities you can find your family participating in when you do an Epic Summer vacation are amazing!  Hiking, biking, horseback riding, zip lining, white water rafting, cowboy campfire dinner and exploring national parks just to name a few.

My boys would LOVE every single one of those activities…and it’s all inclusive.  This is something that I think US destinations MUST start offering everywhere!  It is common internationally, but rare to find here in the US, so this would be point number two in why I am in love with this idea.

When you choose to go to an all inclusive destination, you pay in advance and just show up with the items you need while you’re there…everything else (meals, transportation, guides, lodging and activities) are completely covered.  Yes, these destinations tend to feel like a lot of money up front, but when you factor in all the extra expenses you usually incur while travelling, you’ll find that in the end you’ve done quite well for yourself.

Epic Summer offers 4 day or 7 day family vacation options.  Besides all of the great local activities you can participate in, the family can also enjoy golfing and spa services at the resort.  Be sure to check out www.EpicSummer.com for all the details!

Disclosure:  I did not go on an Epic Summer vacation, but chose to provide this information as another resource for my readers.  This post is offered as part of a blog campaign through Mom Central.  All information for this post was provided to me by the website and by Mom Central.  I will receive a gift card for participating in the campaign.
