Going to New York

I mentioned on Friday that I’ll be going to New York later this month.  Don’t worry, you’ll hear all about it since it’s an event where some fun cookware and more is being unveiled to a bunch of mom bloggers.

I am so honored to be attending this event!  I’m also very excited that at this event, I will get to meet Robin Miller from the Food Network as well as seeing New York for the first time in my “West Coast” life!

I’m also a little nervous about this trekk that feels like it’s halfway around the world.  The whole flying thing…what to wear…in a very new and different environment.  These are things that always make me a little nervous.

Thankfully, I’m not nervous about needing to leave the kids…though I think my husband might be as soon as the reality of it all kicks in LOL.   He was super excited for me to go though, and totally encouraged me to do this when I sent him the original “What do you think?” email.

I’ll only be gone for a day and a half, so the amount of time isn’t a big deal.  Hubby will be taking a couple days off and “playing mom”.  The only problem with that is that the list I’ll need to leave for the umpteen thousand things he’ll need to do for or drag the boys to is going to seem endless to him.    I actually don’t even want to begin to list those things here.

So my faithful (albeit quiet much of the time) readers, have you been to New York?  I need any and all suggestions.

I’ll only have one afternoon/evening to check out the city, the rest of my time gone is either on a plane (hello, who knew it was a 7 hour flight from the West Coast to New York? ugh) or at the Event.

How about fashion?  I’m absolutely clueless there…I’m the mom of 6, it’s not my thing.  Keeping it honest.

Throw it all at me though please!!!

Yeah, you’d think that the flight would be shorter, but although the flight should be non-stop, it is over 7 hours long! About an hour and a half longer than going into Cozumel or Cancun.

I’ve been to the airport… it was huge and stinky. That about covers my experience! Not so helpful, I know.

LOL Tara…you are too funny! I’ll be prepared for the stench (heehee). Might bowl me over completely after my long flight but maybe I’ll just be too tired to notice.

    How fun! Lucky girl…

Ok… my stylish guru is Wardrobe 911. She is one of my Google feed readers and I LOVE her. She does everything by event type, age group, body type, I can spend hours on there looking at new styles, figuring out what works for me.

As a Mom of 7 I too have issues with finding things that I can use that are simple, This lady is the BEST… they are realistic outfits!

I hope this helps… Oh.. and I’m JEALOUS!

I’ll be there, too and look forward to meeting you. Dress at blogger events ranges from nice casual to mom casual. I think I’m wearing black capris and nice top. Maybe a skirt for going out Weds. night? Wear what you feel comfortable in (just not sweatpants!).
