Aquafresh and Moms

As moms many of us think little of all we do from day to day and week to week…sometimes even moment to moment. We do it simply because we are the mom. Sometimes though we find ourselves in a position where we have to go a little beyond what we would normally have planned to do as a mom.

That could mean caring for a very sick child, making major decisions based on the needs of a child and so many other things. Overcoming unique challenges and going above and beyond the call of duty definitely should have it’s own chapter (or more) in the Mom handbook.

Aquafresh & Mom Works Beyond

Aquafresh recently contacted me to offer all of you a spectacular opportunity! I was oh-so-thrilled! Here’s the plan in a nutshell…following this post I want ALL of you moms to post a comment (yep they might be a little long and that’s just fine).

I want you to respond and tell me how you have gone the extra mile for your kids.

Ok, I’ll admit it…I am totally biased when it comes to toothpaste. I think we all are, but since this is the toothpaste I grew up using and still use with my own family I think it is deeply embedded in my psychie (lol).  Oh, by the way, visit their website for coupons…yay!

So there will also be some fun prizes!

This giveaway is very unique so please please please read through the instructions following the prize listings.

  • One story will be randomly chosen from all entries as the Grand A Frog In My Soup winner. Not only will this winner receive a $50 Walmart gift card as a prize, but they will also be nominated (by me) to the Aquafresh Creative team to be entered to win a huge prize package (1 year of free Aquafresh) from them.
  • Two other stories will be chosen randomly. Each will be sent 2 coupons for Aquafresh iso-active whitening toothpaste.

How to enter:

Like I said earlier this is a different giveaway so here’s the scoop…

  • One entry per person. Entry must be a story about going above and beyond as a mom.
  • You can write your own story or you can write a story about your mom.

    I have 3 children and I’ve never had anyone take care of them (other than their daddy) a day in their lives. Our families live out of state so we’ve never had any outside help. I pride myself on having been able to raise them and guide them on our own.

    Before having kids, I did not have the healthiest diet. When I became pregnant with twins and had to deal with health issues like gestational diabetes, I really had to watch what I ate. I started buying more organic fruits and veggies, eating less red meat, buying household products that were “green” and trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle. When I was on bed rest and maternity leave, I found blogs that showed how to maximize savings using coupons on sale items. Now that the kids are 16 months and eating table food, I try to provide them with a healthy diet. I work full time and my commute is 2 hours each day, the weekends are all the time I have to get in quality time with my family, run errands, do chores, clip and organize coupons and grocery shop. This leaves little personal time to myself. But I feel that it is what I need to do to take care of my family and provide the healthiest home life possible. Seeing my family healthy and happy means so much to me. I feel so strongly about this that as the VP Programs for my moms of multiples group, I am working to bring this type of info to our meetings to educate other moms on how to provide healthier, happier homes to their families.

    Well, having had three children, all grown up now and all have children of their own, what I feel is my greatest accomplishment is getting all three of them a college education. I was a single parent for a long time and had no one to help me and I never had a college education. Now I watch my many grandchildren grow up and I wonder how I ever did it!! Thanks for the opportunity to brag!

    My story is not a spectacular one, but I am simply a stay at home Mom. My family made financial sacrifices (but I don’t dare call them sacrifices, they are pure blessings to me) so that I could be at home with our son. It is truly the best decision we ever made, as I am reminded of every day as he crawls up in my bed to snuggle with me in the morning! :smile:

    For the past two years I have picked up other children along with my two who were out for summer school break and have taken them to our university were they can swim as long as they want for $3.00 in an olympic pool. All of their parents have full time jobs and I felt so sorry for the children couped up in the house till their parents came home. Needless to say it is like a suana in the pool area so sitting there is very uncomfortable to me because I am unable to swim due to a fractured hip. I would also pick up other children on Tuesdays and Thursdays who wanted to join the chess club at my son’s school but had no one to take them before 8:00am on those days.

    My mom is awesome. She takes great care of our family. She is under quite a bit of stress, but her work always shines through. Would love it if I could win something like this for her.

    When our little girl, Abby, was only 7 months, she developed this golf ball size lump on her jaw, and we had no idea where it came from, so we took her in to see the doctor, and they didn’t know what it was or what caused it, so they gave her antibiotics and some fluids, as she wasn’t eating or drinking much the past few days because of this. So over the next week I stayed home with her and tried to give her anything she would eat/drink and after a week the lump finally started going down. Being a new mom, it’s hard to know what to do in new situations, but I’m learning as I go along and loving every moment of it!

    I do/have struggled for many years with major depression and bipolar. I made a vow to myself years ago that I would be the best mom I would be..well I am glad to say that my kids have grown up into being responsible adults.

    My mom has gone above and beyond for years. When I was young, she worked a fulltime job and still made time to be the grademother of my class at school. She never missed a single event that we had. Now that I’m a grown up, she keeps my daughter one night each week so hubby & I can have a date night. When my lupus is active, she helps take care of me, and my family. She volunteers at my daughter’s school, babysits her GREAT grandson (18 mon) 2 days a week, and since I cannot drive anymore, she drives me anywhere I need to go when my hubby is not home. I think that qualifies for above and beyond!

    As a single young women I discovered I was pregnant. I was shocked and scared and not sure what to do! I quickly learned that the best thing for this unborn child would be to be placed for adoption and I found THE most wonderful family in the world to raise him! The adoption has been very open and I see him on occasion. It is amazing to me to have been a mother for the 2 days I spent with him in the hospital and my time carrying him for all I was able to learn and grow from him. I will be forever grateful for that life changing experience and that beautiful little boy who changed my life!! I am now happily married and with 2 little boys of my own and pregnant with number 3. I love my boys and my life very much but I
