Harlem Globetrotters
Thursday, January 14th, 2010There are a few events as a child that ever stand out in my mind… going to the circus, a baseball game and seeing the Harlem Globetrotters. For years now I have longed to take my oldest boys to see them, especially our second son who loves basketball.
So when I received an email offering me the opportunity to go see them I jumped at it! We are so excited to take the boys to see this great entertaining event in a nearby town.
This is their 84th season! I remember the show being funny, exciting, awe inspiring and just plain old fun, so I hope for the very same experience for my own children.
Want to know more about the Harlem Globetrotters and their tour? Well here’s some basic information, but be sure to visit their website to learn even more and to see if they are coming to a town near you.
Their 2010 U.S. “Magical Memories” tour began on December 26th and continues through May 2nd, and will makes its way to 216 cities—with the Globetrotters taking on their arch-rivals, the Washington Generals, at each stop.
They are offering a code that readers can use to get a $7 discount for each ticket purchased (Note: Not valid on VIP or courtside seats. Available online only. Valid until the day before the show.) Ticket prices do vary slightly at the various arenas, but they typically average $25 each, thus allowing a family of four to save $28 in total. Readers can simply visit www.harlemglobetrotters.com locate a game in their area and purchase tickets using the promotional code: HGMOM to redeem the coupon.

They are cute and fluffy (which kids love), functional and affordable (which parents love). Kids love stuffed animals, but if you’re anything like me it does get a little annoying that there are so many of them sitting around and while they are great for cuddling they are pointless for anything else. So the fact that this converts from a fluffy stuffy to a functional pillow for children makes it uniquely appealing to me.
I’m excited to be able to offer one lucky commenter a pillow pet of their choice. Just visit
Jingles comes in a box with his very own book. He is a very curious little elf and when playing with “Magical Copying Machine” in the workshop he created thousands of Jingles. So Santa has come up with a great plan.
Also available from DooDots is The Giving Jar. A beautifully illustrated story about an 11 year old boys visit to his grandparents’ farm and a lesson on giving.

These adorable sets will definitely provide any little girl with hours upon hours of endless fun and imagination. These are great for little girls from age 2 to age 10!
Moments made up of fun times in everyday life are some of the things that will become your children’s greatest memories. Having fun games around the house is one of the ways to make just such memories. Recently I was contacted about
GIRAFFALAFF LIMBO is the crazy new game of “how low can you go?” Spin the dial to try one of the 6 limbo styles: classic limbo, crab walk, crawl, giraffe walk, bend forward or backward. The game´s built-in sound will play an encouraging song as preschoolers try not to bump into Giraffalaff. If he´s knocked over, he´ll roll on the floor in laughter. The player that passes under Giraffalaff at the lowest level wins.
In SCATTERPILLAR SCRAMBLE kids will do their best to balance marbles in the hands of one very wiggly caterpillar. Kids will have fun dancing along to the music with Scatterpillar in this fast-paced marble game. The first player to securely place all 8 marbles in Scatterpillar´s hands wins. SCATTERPILLAR SCRAMBLE was named the 2009 Preschool Game of the Year by Creative Child Magazine.
Their new JumpStart Online program is another great option. Even parents have great tools at their fingertips! This is a monthly membership program that offers similar features to the cd, but even more depth. Three to ten year olds have tons of educational (yet very fun) resources available every time they login.
The Eccentric Racing Network offers not only a great site for your family, but also has a very fun shop. I had an opportunity to review their book RV the Aardvark who is an incredible creature who has overcome much in life. Although he was born without feet, he has not only learned how to function well, he has also become an amazing racer despite his adversities.
It was a PR representative asking if I would like to offer copies of this CD for my readers to enter to win. It was absolutely one of those moments! Timing truly is everything, and His timing is perfect isn’t it? Well, He knows it is even when we don’t.
As a parent, this is especially important when you see the accident statistics involving distracted drivers, especially those who are trying to talk on the phone, make a call, etc. without using a hands free device. In fact, many cities and states have made it illegal to do so and we are definitely among them. When I was asked to try out the

I’m not going to post one of my own layouts because this one is all about you! If you have just had a baby, grandbaby or know someone who has, I’m sure you have some amazing photos! I’m also sure that most of you are finding that although it would be fabulous to have those photos magically appear in a book, the time required to really get that first baby book completed is overwhelming. Let alone all the relatives that want their own copies.
