When I think of a science fair I can’t help the mental picture of all the wacky volcano experiments gone wrong on various television shows over the years. Amusing as that may be, the reality of helping kids get science projects prepared for a science fair or project at school can be more than a little daunting.

So when Elmer’s contacted me about teaming up with them and Scientific Explorer for a great science fair solution I was thrilled to accept. I was not disappointed!  In fact, I actually think that the combination of these two companies for any science project is definitely unbeatable.

Elmer’s offers a fantastic foam board (perfect for the oodles of documentation and diagrams required to get the grade), but add in their Project Popperz products and it creates an absolutely beautiful display.

The convenience of a full project in one box from Scientific Explorer is going to thrill mom, teach kids and knock the judges’ socks off.  It might still be a little messy but totally worth it.

I have decided however that these projects are great for far more than just a Science Fair!

Elmer’s products can be used for company presentations, displays at a business or craft fair (or anything like that), or even as signeage at a garage sale, etc.

Scientific Explorer offers parents far more than a simple science project. These kits are perfect for homeschooling families, rainy day activities or even outside summer fun. The kids won’t have any idea they’re “learning”.

Since summer is literally just around the corner, it’s definitely time to start planning great activities. My boys are huge Mythbuster’s fans so I definitely want to try out one of those kits over the summer. But honestly there are just so many to choose from I’m thinking we’ll have to plan a couple days, and maybe even incorporate a few into the birthday bash (which I’ll talk more about soon) just for fun.

Where to Buy

The great thing is that although you can purchase Scientific Explorer online (Amazon.com and Toysrus.com), they are also in many major retailers across the country (like Michael’s, Target, Borders and even Kohl’s).

I found that Mythbuster’s kits cost anywhere from $14.99 to $19.99 at Amazon.com with a wider variety of titles being available. The other science kits were similarly priced with an equally wide variety on Amazon.com.

So, now not only do we have an affordable fun-day planned, but an educational one as well (but I’d thank you to not tell my boys the second part).

Last week was an adventurous one around here. Most of the kiddos were spread out here and there. One was at camp, two of them with one set of grandparents and two more with another set of grandparents. CJ was the only one home most of the week, but there was a reason.

I went in for minor surgery on Tuesday. It honestly wasn’t a big deal and I have felt very good all week despite it, as long as I don’t overdo. Add to that the insanity that is called ‘signing up a child for high school’ though, in addition to daily life with 6 boys and things definitely feel a little more nuts.

As we head out of summer and into yet another fall/school year I am gathering many many very fun ideas and products to share with all of you. So, after taking a lot of time off from blogging this summer I am definitely looking forward to the exciting things I have planned for you very soon.
