Smelly Washer

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

smelly-washerHave you ever opened your washing machine to find an unpleasant odor? Or maybe your linens smell like mildew. It is hard to get your clothes clean and smelling fresh if your washing machine doesn’t smell good. Well, here is a great product that will remove washing machine odor called Smelly Washer!

Smelly Washer eliminates the embarrassment of moldy smelling clothes, towels, and linens. It is a green product that is safe for our environment. It is the only available washing machine cleaner that will remove mold odor or smells of mildew from clothing or towels. So, not only will this product eliminate washing machine smell, it will freshen up your towels and clothing.

Smelly Washer is guaranteed to eliminate washing machine odor by adding just 1 tablespoon to your load. If you would like to try out this wonderful product, Smelly Washer is offering a 10% discount on your order by using this coupon code: afroginmysoup on the order form.

This is truly a great product, and I was excited when they sent me some to try first hand!  Almost all of the new front loading washing machines need to be cleaned regularly (check your instructions to see what the frequency for your machine is) and I really love being able to use an environmentally friendly product to do so!  Just sprinkle a capful in your washer, have the machine agitate it around a bit and turn the machine off overnight so that it can do it’s job.  Then, first thing in the morning, run the rinse cycle and voila, you’re good to go!

Born 2 Impress

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

born2impressbrownpolkaI LOVE giving my nieces (yup, even the one on the way) pretty girly things.  Many of you may not know that I am a total girly girl despite my position as the mom of 6 boys (or maybe because of it LOL).  So, when I have an opportunity to review products that they will love, I jump on it!

Recently Jenniffer Powell, owner of Born 2 Impress, introduced her shop to me and sent me some lovely products for my nieces to review!  Jenniffer started making bows shortly after she found out she was pregnant.  Everyone loved them and encouraged her to sell them…it didn’t take long for her to open her shop online.

Born 2 Impress is committed to hand-crafting unique designs with the highest quality materials and the utmost care, for any occasion, in a timely manner so that anyone can make their little one feel and look like a princess.

I love her vision statement:

To show our appreciation for kids and childhood.
To let kids be kids and look like kids.
To let parents have a sense of pride and security.
To create awareness that every kid was Born 2 Impress.

There are so many beautiful products to choose from, you simply HAVE to check it out for yourself!

Their Bubblegum Woven Headband was the hands down choice for my 9 year old niece.  It impressed my sister particularly because girls my niece’s age still want unique, fun and pretty things for their hair, but don’t always want them to be big and bold.  This headband was perfect for her!

The Lavendar Crochet Headband is so sweet and pretty.  It is perfect for those fun dressy days for even the littlest of babies.  I love these headbands, they are so cute and fun!

The Pink and Brown Dots Braided Headband is one that we were amazed by.  The craftmanship used to create this great headband is not easily duplicated.  My sister is the queen of frugal and crafty.  Often she’ll receive something and think “oh, what a great idea, I know how to make that”, but I can absolutely assure you that with this headband that is NOT the case!  She looked at me and said that it was amazing and something she would definitely buy from Born 2 Impress.

My readers can even get 10% off their purchases (expires June 4 2009), just go shopping at www.Born2Impress.com.

born2impressbubblegumI’m also thrilled to let you know that Jenniffer has offered a $20 gift certificate for one very lucky commenter to go shopping at Born 2 Impress.  To enter, be sure to visit Born 2 Impress and take a look around.  When you’re done, come back here and leave a comment telling me what your favorite product is.

This is open for shipping to US addresses only and will end on March 18th.  Want extra entries?

Mabel’s Labels

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

This contest has ended.  Thank you all so much for participating.  We have more great contests going on right now (Mega Blog Design Giveaway & the very fun book Madam President by Lane Smith) .  The winner is …… Sarah from The Mommylogues!  Congratulations Sarah, make sure that you check your email for a note from me :) .

I was recently contacted by the ladies from Mabel’s Labels to see if I would be interested in reviewing and featuring their products here!  I quickly said yes and waited for the kit to arrive.

They spoiled me!  They let me try out a variety of their products for all 6 of my boys!  I’ve had great fun utilizing products that range from tags that attach easily to the Elementary boys’ backpacks to the large and very durable labels for me to attach to the toddlers’ cups and many items in between.

I’m always looking for products to make my life easier and Mabel’s Labels are a simple and effective solution!  The day I received the package I immediately put the tags on the boys’ backpacks.  A few days later my Middle Schooler got to put some of the labels on his notebooks – they are very “cool” and will not in any way embarass the child.  My 7th grader’s labels are small, black and have a football helmet on them as well as his name printed in a cool font.  So he doesn’t feel funny adding them to his things at all and it keeps it easy for him to determine which is his right away.

I’m still working on getting labels on things!  It has taken me a while to figure out the obvious things that could really use a label.  Cups, backpacks, diaper bag, phones (yup the older ones have matching cell phones).  School supplies are the greatest idea, I mentioned the backpack, but there’s always the lunch box, pencil box, folders and many more items that I’m forever searching for Sharpie pens to write on.

I love that the labels will go through the dishwasher even … did I mention that these products were created by moms???

When you visit the site you will get to customize your labels with your child’s name, the color you want and you even get to choose an icon that your child would love (they have several available in a variety of categories).  I mentioned that these labels are dishwasher safe, but they are also microwave safe and resistant to UV rays and of course they are “kid-durable”.

They offer so many great products, and I personally love their kits!  Here’s some of the products you’ll find: Tag-Mates (no-iron, no-sew alternative to labeling kids’ clothes), Shoe Labels, Skinny Mini™ Labels , Bag Tags, Allergy Labels … I’ll just have to say that you can find labels for just about anything you need; school, home, office, daycare, stationery, holidays and even the neatfreak in your house.

Their Classic Sticky Labels are the all-time customer favorite with Combo Packs coming in as a close second.  For all the latest news and information, Mabel’s Labels even has a blog!

I love their Ultimate Back to School Pack where for $39 you get everything you need to properly label your kids’ school stuff.  It is still not too late to get one of these packs for all the refills or the items you forgot to label in the first place.

Go shopping at www.Mabel.ca October 31st, using the code: FROGML and you will get 10% off your order!!!  Oh, but the fun doesn’t stop there ……

Mabel’s Labels has offered my readers the opportunity to win an Ultimate Back To School Pack!!!  In order to enter to win this, you will need to go to www.Mabel.ca and look around the store (maybe even try out their customization feature, it’s a lot of fun).  When you’re done, come back here and leave a comment telling us what your favorite product or combo pack was!!!

This contest is open to US and Canadian addresses and ends on October 7th!

TuTu Cute – Review & Giveaway

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

This contest has ended and the winner has been notified.  Be sure to enter all of our current contests:)

Calling all princesses, ballerinas, fairies and divas!  This is the shop and contest for you (and those you shop for)!

Since I don’t have a girl of my own I’m not often out looking for all of the adorable clothes and accessories that are available.  So when Natasha – owner of TuTu Cute contacted me about her adorable shop I was excited to go have a look.   Oh was I ever tickled to see all she offered once I got there (maybe it’s good I don’t have a girl to spend all my hubby’s hard earned money on, because I totally would at this shop)!

Natasha began creating these adorable tutus and other products when she was pregnant with her daughter in 2006.  She was so excited that her third child was finally a little girl and she had made tutus as gifts for friends and family, so she felt that TuTu Cute was the perfect fit for her new girlie life :) .

She offers several collections of tutus (and even boutique hairbows) for every style.  There’s the Garden Fairy Collection with layers of colorful tulle and pretty petals, and the Knotted Collection with it’s Pixie, Portrait and Little Lady styles.  She also carries a very fun TuTu dress and a sweet little “My First Tutu” just for infants – how cute is that?!

Her most popular collection though is the Cadence Collection which offers three piece complete outfits featuring her adorable TuTus!  My favorite is the Pink Princess TuTu (which is also offered as an outfit) – the tutu that is featured at the top on the left.  It has more tulle than most tutus and is filled with 300 flower petals, sequins and pearls (WOW) and the waist is embellished with elegant satin embossed ribbon.  But there is something in this collection for girls of all styles!

One of my favorite things about TuTu Cute is that they offer a product that is handmade by a work at home mom, but it doesn’t stop there.  The TuTus are made of nylon tulle which is flame retardant, and all materials used in TuTu cute TuTus and outfits are bought and made in the USA!  So Natasha can honestly say that her products are proud to be MADE IN THE USA.

Brace yourselves ladies … not only has Natasha offered a WONDERFUL TuTu for a giveaway (we’ll get to that in a moment), but she has extended a very fun special offer for those of you who would like to go shopping at TuTu Cute!  Any of you who purchase a product from the Cadence Collection between now and May 15th will get a FREE Portrait TuTu in your choice of color (a $23 value!!!).  All you have to do is go to the Contact Us section after placing your order and send her an email stating which color Portrait TuTu you would like (just choose from the colors offered for that product).  Make sure you MENTION THIS CONTEST to get the free TuTu!!!

As if that wasn’t enough, the pretty Princess TuTu that I mentioned earlier – the one pictured at the top on the right – yep, that one (a $45 value!) … Natasha is giving one of you the opportunity to win one of those TuTus!!!  I know you’re terribly excited about that, so here’s what I need you to do to enter (don’t worry it’s really quite simple):

  • ~ Visit TuTu Cute and take a look around.
  • ~ Come back here and leave a comment telling us your favorite product &/or a suggesion for a product you’d like to see offered.

It’s that simple!  Oh, and guess what … TuTu Cute can ship anywhere, so this contest is open to participants in all countries :) .  Please be sure to tell everyone about it, if you’re a blogger it would mean a lot to Natasha if you would spread the word about this shop and this contest in a post on your blog.

Be sure to enter by Tuesday May 13th.

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

The time has come for a little bloggy organization.  As more and more great products, sites, movies, books and more are brought to my attention I needed a place for it all to go so that A Frog In My Soup could continue following it’s original path – chronicaling my journey as the mom of 6 boys, supporting and encouraging moms, sharing my journals as well as some great information and resources I have found.

So, I’m very excited to introduce all of you to Froggy Reviews!  Simply hop on over to www.FroggyReviews.com to see what’s going on.  I’ll be offering many contests there as well as lots more great reviews and discounts!  It’s truly all the same information in a new location.  You can subscribe to it easily via email or any reader by following the various links offered on the site :)

I have already posted some great information and resources and today I am featuring a fun first contest that I’ll tell you more about later.  I think this will be a great resource and it is very exciting to have a better way to introduce all of these great shops and products to you!
