Tuesday – December 13, 2005 – 27.3 Weeks
Once again I find that I have forgotten to write my updates in here, so here we go . . . .
I saw Dr. Smith a week ago and everything looked great! I did my glucose test too – no results yet. We talked a little about what the delivery room would look like because I asked her if I’d be delivering in an O.R. The answer was Yes!
Then she told me who would be in the room – at least 2 delivering OB’s, at least 2 nurses, 2 NICU doctors and the anesthesiologist. They usually have an ultrasound machine in the room too, so I’d imagine someone needs to run that. It was a pretty basic visit except she told me I need to add weekly NST’s as of 28 weeks.
Ultrasound
My ultrasound was yesterday. My sister went with me this time and boy am I glad. The babies have completely shifted positions! Baby A (who was across the bottom and head down ) is now head up on my right side and seems totally squished. Baby B (who was across the top with his head on my right side) is now head down, straight down the middle and is now the presenting baby (or the one with access to the exit)!
UGH!
The whole thing was very nearly overwhelming and quite confusing. The radiologist was called in to see for himself, but this kind of thing does happen. I honestly am still struggling to grasp it all!
It isn’t a problem, just confusing! They switched places and baby A is now baby B?! eek!
My first NST was today. The nurse said it’s a bit early actually, but valiantly chased the babies all over for about an hour! They sound great and were actually almost a little too active to get a good reading. I have another next Wednesday.
