Christmas is quickly approaching, but we find ourselves behind in completing all of those last minute details. You may remember that M burned his finger 2 days after thanksgiving and it turned out that it was a very bad 2nd degree burn resulting in many trips to the dr. We even ended up seeing a hand specialist starting last week and a hand therapist yesterday. It has been quite a trying situation.
There is nothing worse than seeing your child, especially an infant go through something so painful and difficult! We will have to continue to have his finger monitored over the next months to even a year to make sure that scarring isn’t affecting the growth of that finger, but so far it is looking pretty good without a lot of scar buildup. They do have him on a putty thing that was fitted to his finger that he wears at night to help soften any scarring even more.
Adding to that trauma the babies have been sick for quite some time now. The cough that began before Thanksgiving never quite went away completely before they came down with another nastier illness last Saturday. It started out sounding croupy and wheezy, and has progressed from there. They are miserable. At first E was the sicker baby, but now M has been lethargic for two days straight. Their pediatrician is putting them on an antibiotic to make sure to kill any of those bugs, but since we are so close to Christmas their medical treatment plan is a little different than it would normally be due to the fact that the office will be closed.
We are just praying that they get better quickly! Did I mention that they got this bug from J (Son4)? Well they did and he doesn’t sound any better than they do. I am so worried that they won’t be better for Christmas and won’t be able to enjoy any of it.
Not a pleasant update for the Christmas season I’m afraid, but it’s our life right now.
God Bless you this Christmas time and I truly ope you are having a much healthier Christmas season!!!!!!!
