Today is Otter Boy’s birthday – Son2 turns 9!!!! Happy Birthday to my sweet, kind-hearted boy with the big blue eyes and adorable freckles!
Quick Birth Story:
Oddly I remember the day of his birth quite clearly still – funny since I have so many children, but I think it is the type of event that tends to stick with you for a while! As of the time of day of this post (about 11:30am) I was at the hospital with a “water leak” (haha) – it had started about 2:30 in the morning but was still not in labor. They induced me around 12:30, I went into labor around 3:30 and he was born at 4:54pm weighing 8 lbs 8 ozs (my littlest baby before the twins).
His birth story is a little interesting – the pitocin made the contractions unbelievably crazy so I finally caved and asked for an epidural . . . they gave me one (I was only 4 cm) and I literally went from laying on my side as they put it in to telling the doctors that they’d better hurry since I needed to push NOW! He was born about 5 minutes later and the epidural kicked in about 15 minutes after that!!!! Because everything was so intense during his birth and the cord was wrapped around his neck (only once for this guy) it was a little overwhelming for poor hubby. He’s always been a rock about all of the kids’ births, but this one almost did him in.
Moving on . . .
I love his sense of humor his interest in life and his profound imagination and I look forward to watching him become an awesome, strong and responsible young man!!!!
