They are one, they are everywhere, they are into everything, they are climbing everything, eating everything, and they are usually going two separate directions!
Am I surprised? NO! Was I prepared for this very thing to happen when they became mobile? YES! But to be honest, the reality is a little different than just knowing/preparing that it will happen! When they were crawling we got a taste of it – needing to pick up, sweep and shake out rugs several times a day! Now that they are walking they have taken it to a whole new level!
They have emptied drawers, used their little chairs to climb up onto other furniture (then they try to keep climbing higher on whatever is there too), their VERY FAVORITE thing to do is to empty the wipes container – one by one throwing the wipes over their shoulder. They often do this as quietly as possible while I’m doing something with another child! They are WAAAAAAAAY too smart! They even “assist” each other! If I am detained with the 3 year old or folding laundry or whatever, they will collaborate on something they think is fun (usually destructive)!
Yes they are THE sweetest things on the earth, but they are also “double trouble”! I know that some moms of twins HATE that statement, but I have found that double trouble comes in more forms than twins, so I don’t mind it – it is simply the truth! There is truly no end to my compassion and love for them, and I have joy, excitement and laughter throughout each day with these precious little ones. The question now is when will the trouble making peak?
We will see . . . . we will see!
