I sooooo totally related to her experience not only as a student but as a parent! It was almost eerie! We too have a son that is dyslexic and it came as a complete shock. This intelligent and amazing child has a learning difficulty . . . and we’re just finding out now? HUH?
That was a few years ago and we seem to all have adjusted if only a little to the whole thing. He still experiences challenges, but has also had some phenomenal triumphs. How much better can it be though if I consistently give it to Him! He created my child with his challenges and strengths and knows their purpose . . . I need to give it back to Him!
Stormie says on pg 107:
Thankfully, God makes up for our deficiencies with His strength. His word says “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God” (2 Corinthians 3:5)
– can I just say AMEN right here! I trust Him to give my sons the desire for knowledge! I trust Him to give my sons the desire to succeed and fulfill His purpose for Him! I trust HIM!
Another scripture for the journey:
“A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel.” Proverbs 1:5
