Once again, I am amazed at the magnificent simplicity of these prayer subjects! Why did it never occur to me to pray over this? I daily (hourly?) deal with the “normal” sibling issues. The fighting, bantering, some name calling and even occasionally the beginnings of a physical fight. I have thought about it, tried different methods and even recently began reading a popular book about sibling rivalry. Even the last offered me no obvious solution as I observed my interaction with them to determine if the cause was with me.
Never once did it occur to me to add this to my prayer list and yet it seems obvious now that it should have been toward the top of that list the whole time.
I loved these scripture quotes in the chapter and I’ll end this post with them:
“You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach” – Isaiah 58:12
“Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion” – Romans 12:16
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God” – Matthew 5:9
“Let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.” – Romans 14:19
And my very favorite!
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1)
