That’s right, I’ve been blogging for 3 years! I started blogging on September 27th, 2006. Today, I’m going to look back through these great years of blogging to point out lots of really great posts that you really should check out if you are a newer reader.
So, prepare for a crash course through A Frog In My Soup! Here’s just a sneak peek at the changes in the boys from then to now…

At the end of this post, you’ll be able to see the incredible journey my sons have taken in the last 3 years in the form of a fun Blogoversary photo gallery. Be sure to read on for all the highlight posts from the last three years! I did go back though and publish several devotionals and all of my Twin Pregnancy journal entries from long before then. In fact, you can read all about our reaction to finding out we were having twins, how I found out they were boys during an ultrasound at 14.2 weeks, a funny idea I had about dressing them, and yes, even how the dog is ultimately responsible for me going into labor 6 weeks early!
Oh, and of course, their birth story is there too, but you are totally correct that there is absolutely a gaping hole where the NICU weeks should be…they were never really recorded. I did blog about the one year anniversary of their homecoming from the NICU, I think it was the first time I really felt comfortable talking about it.
When I started this blog, my twins were 6 months old and the main characters behind a funny post about the dilemmas one faces when dressing twins and a very crazy day in the life of a mom with 3 under 3. You were able to read about them officially becoming walkers, and you’ve also seen how at the age of one they became a serious force to be reckoned with, and occasionally caused me a less than sane day!
A few months after they turned one, I turned 35 and rambled on in this post. Oh, and if you want a quick synopsis of each boys’ birth stats you can even find that! And don’t forget the rambling post of one day in my life with 6 boys in December 2007.
When I started this blog, my oldest son, CJ, was actually shorter than me…and he was not quite 11 years old. You can read about his love of football all the way back to October 2006 and on into Jr High (along with the craziness that is called Jr. High registration). You can also read just a glimpse into the thoughts of an 11 year old boy about Valentines Day and the value of Brothers (LOL). It’s honestly a little difficult for me to believe that he’s now 13 and almost 6 feet tall. Just another reminder of how much can change in 3 years!
Son 2, The Salesman, was a mere 8 years old…and in 2nd grade! Now, he’s 11 (going on 30) and in 5th grade. We looked back at his birth when he turned 9, which was fun! His affinity for manipulation and love of all things money related (rest assured I’m working hard to balance him out), earned him his name around here in November of 2007. We’ve also taken the time to listen to a Word from the Salesman and his funny sayings.
Tater (Son 3) was only 7 and had just started 3rd grade…he’s now 10 years old and in 4th grade. He had just decided that talking was a good thing and was either quiet or bossing everybody around…even those who were twice his size…he had something to prove. He was one of the main participants in some Spring Break mishaps and mayhem.
Son 4 (Sir Lion) had just turned 3, was the “Angel” behind a funny nap story and Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee and now he’s a big Kindergartener and 6 years old.
It’s amazing, when our kids are little how quickly they change isn’t it. Although you may be surprised to hear it, the growth of this blog has been a shock as well! Three years ago, when I started blogging it honestly was solely to document and journal about our lives and keep track of the memories I wanted to be able to scrapbook.
I’m so thankful I have that to look back on and I still try to occasionally post updates on what they are doing for that very reason. I had not yet met anyone in the Mom-blogosphere, and I actualy didn’t even know it existed.
Over time, that changed and I was able to meet many other mom bloggers and even found blogging was an excellent way to bless other work at home moms by spreading the word about their shops, websites and/or products! Being in leadership over the years in a variety of mom groups, it also became a wonderful way for me to write encouraging posts for other moms.
I never could have imagined the changes that have happened in the last 3 years. Especially the fact that it totally opened the perfect business door for me in designing blogs…something I adore doing.
Thank you so much for joining me on this look back over the past three years. I know that it was long and I truly appreciate all of your support! I hope and pray that over the next three years I can bring you encouragement, laughter, support and much more information.
