If you’re ever looking for all the digi scrap tips/pages, it has it’s very own category…a link to that category is at the bottom of this post and also in the right sidebar under Favorite Froggy Spots. Yup, right there is a link to all the Digi-Scrapping pages and tips!
Ok, now on to the Tip of the Week!
When you’re just starting out with your digi scrapbooking experience there are a few major items you want to have on hand…a really good digi-scrapbooking software (we’ll talk about this another time, but if any of you have a recommendation, please leave a comment and share it with me so I can check it out) and digi-scrapbooking kits (of course).
There are way more digital scrapbook shops than I could even begin to mention, and I’m discovering new ones every single day. How do you choose the best kits to maximize your dollar? We will all find certain designers that really appeal to us right off, and that can be a great place to start. Look through all the bits and pieces of each kit before you purchase. Here’s what to look for…
- If the colors aren’t appealing to you even in the preview, you’ll probably struggle when trying to use the kit.
- Check out the papers. Are they the right colors? Can you use 2, 3 or 4 in one page and have them go together well? These are important questions and you will be disappointed every time if the answer to either of those questions is no.
- Once you have determined that those first two tips check out….then you check the elements. Are there enough ribbons? Brads or other fasteners? Stitching? I’m not saying that one of those things specifically must be there, but as you go along you’ll figure out that there are probably certain elements that you tend to use a lot and you’ll feel a little lost if some form of those elements aren’t in the kits you purchase. For me, it’s a serious balance of everything.
Ok, that’s enough for today! Feel free to comment with your suggestions or any digi-scrapping questions you have! Remember, I offer a new tip each week during WW, so I may very well use your question sometime soon.
